ATB donates popcorn machine for When You Wish Upon A Star

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR is a small charity whose primary aim is to grant the Wishes of children suffering from life threatening illnesses. Since they started in 1990, they have granted over 14,500 Wishes for some very brave and courageous children and their families. All children have Wishes, but for these children and their families that Wish is much more precious.

ATB’s MD, Andy Birchall, learned about the charity through friends. Their son, Dale, was diagnosed at 6 years old with a malignant brain tumour. Dale endured brain surgery, fifteen months of chemo, six weeks of radio therapy and then boosters as the cancer had spread down his spine. Dale and his family have received indescribable support from WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR. They have provided very special wishes and wonderful memories with holidays and magical days out. WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR has made Dale, and other children like him, feel very special and very happy.

Dale’s family is using the popcorn machine at their own fundraiser for WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR. They are then lending it to friends they’ve made through Royal Manchester Children Hospital for their own fundraisers for the charity. Andy has committed ATB to supplying free corn for the life of the machine. Selling popcorn is a great way to make money at any fundraising event. It’s easy to do; either invest in a popcorn machine or set up a simple DIY option. The raw materials are very cheap and the profit margins high.
