ATB joins prompt payment code

ATB has become a signatory to the prompt payment code, set up by the government department for Business Innovation and Skills to encourage and promote best practice between organisations and their suppliers.

Signatories to the code commit to paying their suppliers within agreed terms and are bound to ensure that there's a clearly defined process in place should any issues arise.

Andrew Birchall, Managing Director at ATB commented "As far as ATB are concerned it's a win-win situation. If you pay promptly then it's both a real benefit to your supplier and you, the customer, as you undoubtedly receive more favourable service and potentially improved terms".

The code has really started to gain momentum, counting high street luminaries Marks and Spencer and blue chip multinational Balfour Beatty amongst the signatories. Underpinning this, independent research conducted by Experian indicates that signatories to the code represent over 60% of the UK supply chain. For further information visit
